Last summer we had the honor and privilege of helping AFHE with their student ID cards at the 2015 AFHE Homeschool Convention. We took professional student portraits of each student for free and coordinated sending the files to AFHE for their student ID fulfillment. They have asked us to come back for this year’s convention July 15-16, 2016! If you haven’t heard of AFHE – they are Arizona Families for Home Education. They are a non-profit organization whose purpose is to inspire, promote, preserve and support all homeschooling families in Arizona. This year the convention theme is: BE STRONG & COURAGEOUS Awesome line up of exhibitors, speakers and workshops as always! If you’re curious about homeschooling for high school or special needs they have a mini-conference on Thursday night, July 14th. It was different being an exhibitor….. rather than just a homeschool parent wandering around the plethora of incredible vendor booths and laden with bags of information……. my wife did rather miss out on, well all….. of the speakers. I think this year we’ll consider buying the mp3’s. However, on the flip side it was AWESOME just chatting with moms and dads about their homeschooling experiences – things they saw on […]
I remember when I graduated from high school – felt like that was the moment I really became AN ADULT. A new life was waiting for me. Now we watch those who were just kids – graduating. Do you have a high school senior who is about to graduate? Congratulations! This is a HUGE milestone – just huge. With a 12 year old and 7 year old we are only briefly getting glimpses of the road ahead….. and boy are we not ready for this stage yet! At Chad Dahlquist Photography we would love to capture the essence of graduate in a way that is tasteful and really shows off their authentic and vibrant personality. Do they love skateboarding? Do they love to play guitar or read in a special corner of your house? Have they been in 4H for zillions of years and are raising champion pigs? Let’s get their 4-legged friends involved too! We love anything out of the ordinary. Contact us today to arrange a dream photo session that you’ll all be excited about! To celebrate we would love to give you a GIFT for both you AND your senior. BOOK A MINI-SESSION and receive a free 11×14 metallic […]
Mom is the wearer of many hats. She does it ALL. She drives all over town taking the kids to their many activities. She volunteers in so many capacities. She wipes noses……. and bottoms. Feeds her family more than just 3x a day (especially if you have growing boys!) She never runs out of hugs and loving wisdom to share. She never tires of your humor and shenanigans. She’s your biggest fan. Mom would give up everything she has – to help you grow, and make you feel special. Mom doesn’t think twice about not receiving a hallmark card or gift on Mother’s Day. You know what moms love more than anything ? Their family. Give her the gift of a photography session this year to capture your family at THIS season of your life. Sports team photography is usually well……… B O R I N G. Poses – dull. Quality – lacking – often blurry. Lighting – unprofessional. We are excited to show AZ Archery Club what we can do for their elite club !! We did some photos before our shoot with the AZ Archery Club to just play around with what can be done (safely!) with bow and arrow. Not only did we test best angles to feature the Archery team members with their bow drawn and at ease, but we also had fun with some dramatic shots with our model (and stellar archer.) If you are tired of your run of the mill sports team photos – contact us to discover what we can do differently for your club.
The H Family needed some “traditional” head shot portraits of their three boys, but we wanted to do a little extra for this special family and take some more of the brothers together too. Sunset is a great time to be on the mountain peak overlooking the valley capturing sweet sibling moments.
We love dogs – here are some fun shots of these two lovable basenjis – Tiki and Hana. Tiki was very food motivated during the shoot; while Hana loved to relax and lay down on the job. She seems to love having her photo taken. 🙂 If you would love to schedule a photo shoot for your pet, furry, feathered or otherwise… give us a shout!
We knew immediately, that this location would be a perfect fit for the Davis Family. Rustic, historical context, textured, meaningful, outdoor – perfectly suited to their love of both the outdoors, hiking, reclaimed rustic spaces and fine art. Dad (Jason Lee Davis) is an incredibly gifted multi-disciplinary artist, and you can see his work throughout the city at various venues. Please check out his website if you’re looking for a unique piece for your home or work space. I especially love his series “Off the Wildfire Floor” where he incorporates slide fire ash into the paintings (with permit for collection) and gives back a donation to plant 100 trees in your name. They are passionate animal lovers as well – if you love rescues, look at this series “Portrait of the Reclaimed Dog.” Along with photographing their family, we also updated his head shot for his publicity purposes. I love it when his wife said ‘Well… you’re going to be hard to live with for the next week!’ ;D His eyes are pretty striking…. Enjoy the photos! The images below are just a few of our favorites from the whole session. If you’re looking for a meaningful family session – […]
Photographing this sweet family was extra rewarding because Mom had been dreaming of a session capturing her family for years … and with baby on the way shortly, now was the time. The old adage “the days are long, but the years are shot” is so true. The only time where all the kids have matching socks, perfect hair, no stains on their shirt and everything blissfully files into the car for the perfect photo shoot….. is one that never happens and the kids away at college. McCormick Ranch was a great location as it was easy to access – no long hikes for a 3rd trimester mamma – along with gorgeous Sonoran Desert views complete with giant saguaro, various cacti, contrasting textures of rock – and of course the mountain vistas beyond. It’s not easy for a 14 year old teen to have ‘fun’ on a shoot with his family…. but he even got to do a little spontaneous rock climbing while we were at it. The photos of the girls with Dad are precious… and soon there will be a 3rd daughter! Arizona skies rarely disappoint, sunsets are one of my favorite times to shoot. Thank you Simon […]
